 COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives in ways we could not possibly have imagined just one year ago.

We are acutely aware that schools are facing unprecedented challenges which are taking their toll on the entire community.In light of this, and as part of our commitment to keeping pace with current needs, Schools Today has developed a rapid-response research model specific to the impact of COVID-19. The aim of this is to gather significant data, from which we can offer short-term targeted support in this ever-changing landscape..

Our Services

Our expert team has a variety of educational and mental health specialisms and we create tailored solutions for each school.

Our first step is to educate. We provide dynamic, bespoke workshops and training to the whole school community in order to build knowledge and confidence and to enhance pastoral leadership.

Our second is to respond. When mental health crises do arise, we help schools to respond swiftly and effectively by providing therapeutic support and counselling to members of their community.

Our Impact

The work we do has a powerful impact on school life. Educating and supporting students helps to create a resilient, open-minded community with excellent self-awareness. This prepares them for the emotional challenges at school and beyond.

Our family work nurtures a deep rooted approach to supporting students and their carers. Through workshops and - where required - family therapy, we empower families to support themselves and their children from within the home.

All of this, in addition to the specialist pastoral training we offer staff, means that staff are able to focus on the important job they set out to do - teaching.

For the cost of 1.5 counsellors (appropriate to a school of some 1400), I have access to 5 trainees (for more routine work), a child psychologist, an executive coach, a parent work specialist, and a range of other experts, some of whom are able to expedite pupils through CAHMS. Whereas previous models relied on either a single (overburdened) counsellor, or a service ‘silo-ed’ from the school’s day to day pastoral issues and concerns, this service was fully invested and integrated from Day 1 and clearly passionate and visionary in what counts as first rate counselling today in schools.
